The school record begins to establish the paper trail that precedes industry, war service and police work.
1938
NORTHWESTERN HIGH SCHOOL
Graduation
The surviving diploma and school photographs place Ralph in Detroit before his industrial training begins.

FORD MOTOR COMPANY
Apprentice School
The Ford diploma documents completion of the shop and academic course in tool making.
1943
ENGINEERING & WAR INDUSTRY
Tool Engineering
The University of Detroit War Training Course certificate becomes a documentary bridge between Detroit industry and military service.

U.S. ARMY AIR FORCES
Military Service
Army Air Forces service moves Ralph out of Detroit industry and into stateside training and assignments in Texas.
1945–46
RETURN HOME
Veteran to Civilian
Military service ends in November 1945. Ralph returns to a postwar Detroit shifting back toward civilian life.
