Renna Palmer Publishing was created to preserve and present a documented history of Detroit through the life, career, cases and surviving archive of Detective Lieutenant Ralph Renna Palmer — and to build a larger historical world around the streets, institutions and people that shaped the city.

The Ralph Palmer Chronicles are built from surviving photographs, newspapers, police and personnel records, case material, commendations, family documents and archival research. The purpose is not to turn history into legend. It is to let the documented record — and Detroit itself — carry the story.
Neighborhoods, streets, industry, policing, nightlife, newspapers, architecture and changing eras are treated as part of the historical evidence surrounding each story.
The crimes are presented in the world in which they happened, grounded in period records rather than modern embellishment.
Family-held photographs and documents join public historical sources to preserve a record extending across Ralph Palmer's Detroit Police career.
Renna Palmer Publishing welcomes serious inquiries concerning the books, historical research, archival material, interviews, documentary development and adaptation rights.
